The Municipality of Mississippi Mills, Ontario, will host its first Business Breakfast of 2026 on February 18 to give local entrepreneurs a chance to network and discuss town growth. The event is designed as an early-year opportunity for small business owners to make contacts and learn about available supports and programs.
The gathering runs from 7:00 to 9:00 AM at the Almonte Civitan Club located at 500 Almonte Street. Admission costs $15 per person and can be paid at the door by cash or debit, though organizers ask that guests register in advance.
This meeting serves as a main hub for information regarding the MM2048 initiative, which is a plan to coordinate services for an expected 6,000 new residents. Mayor Christa Lowry will provide updates after recently attending the ROMA Conference in January to discuss rural issues with provincial leaders.
Business owners can also learn about local support programs and upcoming changes to municipal services. This includes a new $2 fee for paper water bills that the town will begin charging in March 2026.
