Mississippi Mills Reports One Death in Single-Vehicle Crash Near Pakenham

A single-vehicle crash shortly before midnight on Dec. 15, 2025, on the 8th Concession of South Pakenham near Cedar Hill Sideroad in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills left an 18‑year‑old male resident dead, according to a post on the Municipality of Mississippi Mills news feed.

Members of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the scene. Mississippi Mills Fire Department crews extricated a trapped passenger. Lanark County Paramedics provided life‑saving measures; two occupants were transported to hospital with minor injuries, and the 18‑year‑old male was pronounced deceased a short time later.

A 17‑year‑old male has been arrested and charged by the OPP with: operation while impaired causing death; operation while impaired causing bodily harm; and operation while impaired — alcohol concentration (80 plus). Because the accused is under 18, his identity has not been released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The accused has been released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court in January.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Lanark County OPP at 1‑888‑310‑1122 and refer to incident number E251683346. As of Dec. 16, 2025, the municipality had not announced any review of road safety measures at the crash site.
