The Almonte Pakenham Minor Hockey Association (APMHA) has added dedicated goalie-only training clinics to its 20252026 seasonal calendar in Mississippi Mills, Ontario. The clinics are scheduled at the Stewart Community Centre (Pakenham Arena) and target two age groups: U9–U13 and U15–U18. The sessions are intended to provide technical goaltending instruction that general team practices often do not cover.

All sessions take place at the Stewart Community Centre (commonly called the Pakenham Arena). Moving goalie instruction to dedicated ice time gives participating goalies focused practice on technical goaltending skills (for example, butterfly technique and post-integration), and may require additional travel or volunteer support from families based in Almonte.

Registration for these clinics is handled through the association’s Spordle registration page (the APMHA also uses a Sportsheadz calendar for scheduling). Parents can check Spordle for available spots and any associated fees. The association’s registration materials also note that hockey costs can be a financial burden for families, and these clinics are framed as part of efforts to provide development value to the local community. The clinics are also intended to support the Mississippi Thunderkings (MTK) competitive program, a Tier‑level partnership that includes players from Almonte Pakenham and nearby Carleton Place.

The initiative is consistent with the APMHA Constitution & By‑Laws (last revised April 2025), which directs the association to coordinate player development clinics, including goalie clinics, when feasible. By focusing on the goaltender position, the association aims to improve local goaltending depth for both house‑league and competitive teams.
