The Pakenham & District Civitan Club is planning two community events in Mississippi Mills, Ontario, in January 2026 to bring residents together for food and winter activities. A discussion about the events was initiated on January 7, 2026.

The club is currently looking for volunteers to help run the upcoming Pakenham Frost Festival. Residents are discussing ways to help with tasks like serving hot dogs and hot chocolate at the Stewart Community Centre (112 MacFarlane St.), which serves as the primary operational hub for these winter activities.

These events are designed to provide affordable family entertainment while raising money for local causes such as the Lanark County Food Bank (The Hunger Stop). The club’s long-standing dedication to the area was highlighted at the Mississippi Mills Community Awards, where local Civitan leaders were recognized for their contributions.

In addition to winter festivals, the organization has worked on projects like the Pakenham bicentennial art poster to help promote the town to visitors. Community members can find more details about how to participate or volunteer through the Friends in Mississippi Mills Facebook group.
