The South Central Regional Library will close all of its locations, including the branch in Morden, Manitoba, on April 3 and April 4, 2026, for the Easter weekend. This two-day closure means residents will not be able to visit the library in person or attend regular programs during the holiday.
The library system has a long-standing policy to close its doors on both the holiday Friday and the Saturday before a long weekend. Because of this, the weekly Lego and Hot Wheels Club held at the Morden location will be cancelled for that Friday morning.
Local residents who have books or items on hold are encouraged to pick them up at the 514 Stephen Street building by the end of the day on Thursday, April 2, 2026. While the physical building is closed, people can still access the online catalogue to use digital books, streaming services, and other electronic resources.
Following the holiday, the library will begin preparing for its large annual book sale fundraiser. The event is set to take place at the Access Event Centre in Morden from April 30 to May 2, 2026.
