The City of Morden, Manitoba, is searching for a Senior Election Official (SEO) to manage the upcoming municipal election on October 28, 2026. The SEO is responsible for ensuring the voting process is free and fair and that every eligible resident can cast a ballot.

The SEO will maintain the voters’ list and ensure candidates comply with the Municipal Councils and School Boards Elections Act. The recruitment, announced in early February 2026, is part of the city’s formal preparations for Manitoba’s province-wide municipal elections, which are held every four years.

This will be the first full general municipal election since Nancy Penner was elected as Morden’s first female mayor in a December 2023 by-election. The SEO will also recruit and train polling staff for election day and advance voting periods.

Given Morden’s ongoing population growth, the city is likely to face a larger voters’ list than in previous elections, which may require expanded advance voting and additional polling resources. The city announced the SEO recruitment in early February 2026 and is accepting applications to ensure preparations are underway well ahead of the election season.
