On February 4, 2026, the community of Morden, Manitoba, hosted a Wing Night fundraiser to support local family services. The event was a come-and-go social designed to raise money for the upcoming year of free parenting and childhood programs.

The Morden Family Resource Centre organized the night with a $25 entry fee to help fund its workshops. These programs offer free resources for early childhood education and mental health, helping ensure families in the area have access to support.

Executive Director Jen Froese has noted in reports that the centre provides more than just playgroups. It has become a hub for developmental tools and parenting classes that might otherwise be expensive or hard to find.

As the city continues to grow, local support from residents and organizations — including groups such as the Morden Chamber of Commerce — helps meet the rising demand for services. The money raised will go directly toward initiatives like reading workshops and emotional development classes for young children.

Residents can find more details about available services through the Manitoba 211 database. The centre plans to use the proceeds to support its spring activities, including programs focused on preschool mental health (for example, the “Mindful Munchkins” program).
