Residents looking for work in Morris, Manitoba, are seeing a significant rise in local employment opportunities this spring. As of April 1, 2026, the federal Job Bank reports 131 job listings for the Morris area, including 57 remote jobs, with 73 positions located within a 50-kilometre radius of the community, marking a notable increase in available roles across the region.

This growth in listings coincides with a broader provincial trend, as employment in Manitoba rose by 7,100 jobs between February 2025 and February 2026. According to official data, this shift has helped lower the provincial unemployment rate to 5.7 per cent.

Local businesses are currently hiring for a wide variety of positions, ranging from retail to specialized technical trades. For example, Morris Super Variety is seeking a bookkeeper at $30.50 per hour and a cashier at $16.50 per hour. In nearby Rosenort, Morris River Farms Ltd. is hiring a grain and oilseed farmer at $22.00 per hour, while Accu-Twist Ltd. is looking for a welder at $25.00 per hour. Additionally, genAG Incorporated is recruiting agricultural equipment technicians with wages ranging from $37.85 to $45.00 per hour.

These roles build upon the region’s existing industrial base. According to the Rural Municipality of Morris, the local steel manufacturing industry remains a major pillar of the economy, employing between 300 and 400 people to produce grain bins, augers, and truck boxes.

Other regional employers are also adding to the job market. Winkler Meats Ltd. is currently hiring for several positions, including a shipper-receiver at $20.00 per hour, an administrative assistant at $22.00 per hour, and a quality control technician with pay between $22.00 and $25.00 per hour.
