The Town of Morris will close its municipal office at noon on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, and it won’t reopen until Monday, July 20, as staff take part in the annual Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition. Residents who need to pay utility bills, submit service requests, or handle other town business during that stretch should plan ahead or use online options.
“We will be closed at noon on Wednesday July 15th, and will re-open Monday July 20th. Have a great Stampede!” reads a brief announcement posted on the town’s website.
The closure lines up with the Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition, which runs July 17-19 at 350 Main Street South. Organized by the Valley Agricultural Society, the event is Manitoba’s only professional rodeo and is recognized as a Star Attraction by the province’s tourism and heritage department. It started in 1964 with a goal to be the largest rodeo east of the Calgary Stampede.
While the office is closed, residents can still handle many town services online. The town’s website has portals for utility payments and service requests that will stay active throughout the Stampede shutdown.
The Town Office sits at 1-380 Stampede Grounds in Morris, a community of about 1,975 people on Highway 75 in the Red River Valley. The office will resume regular operations when it reopens Monday morning.
