The Town of Morris has issued a boil water advisory for sections of its public water system after maintenance work on July 28, 2026, caused a loss of water pressure in the pipes.
The advisory affects portions of the town’s water system. The depressurization happened during maintenance, and officials say the loss of pressure can allow contaminants to enter the water supply.
Residents in those areas should bring all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing food to a rolling boil for at least one minute. The town said the advisory will stay in place until testing confirms the water is safe again.
Morris gets its treated water from the Pembina Valley Water Co-op, which draws from the Red River at the Morris Regional Water Treatment Plant. The Co-op supplies roughly 50,000 people across 14 member municipalities in south-central Manitoba. Morris itself has seen several similar advisories in recent years, with six issued in 2023 alone due to valve work, water main breaks, and other maintenance.
