The Red River Valley School Division is hosting a public forum in Morris, Manitoba, on March 4, 2026, to explain how it will spend its budget on classrooms and transportation for the upcoming school year.

To help residents understand the numbers, the division released a nine-part video series on February 26, 2026, that explains the budget in everyday language. These videos break down costs for student services and the maintenance of school buildings.

The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at the divisional board office at 233 Main Street North, but community members can also participate online. According to the RM of Morris, this allows locals to ask questions directly to the board and Superintendent Daniel Preteau.

The new financial plan follows a 20252026 school year where the division managed a $41 million budget and saw property taxes for the school levy rise by 11.3 per cent. In January 2026, the division also asked for public feedback on how to make bus routes safer and more efficient for students.
