Environment Canada has issued a weather alert for Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, as a new storm system is expected to bring about 15 cm of snow to the area this weekend. The snow is forecast to start on Saturday evening, March 14, 2026, and continue through Sunday morning, March 15, 2026.

The weather agency notes that a low-pressure system is moving in, which will likely cause blowing snow and difficult driving conditions across the Avalon Peninsula. Winds are expected to pick up during the storm, with gusts reaching between 40 and 60 km/h.

While the heaviest snow is predicted for early Sunday morning, there is some uncertainty about which specific areas will see the most accumulation. Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on local weather updates and to plan their travel carefully to avoid poor visibility on the roads.
