The Mount Pearl Minor Hockey Association is looking for parent volunteers to fill team manager roles for three of its Under-9 transitional teams in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador. The application process for these positions opened on March 10, 2026, to help provide more support for the young players.

Team managers are responsible for the daily tasks that keep a hockey team organized throughout the season. This includes handling messages between families, organizing team calendars, and managing paperwork for local games.

The role is designed for parents who want to be involved in the local sports community and support their child’s progress. By taking on these administrative duties, volunteers allow coaches to spend more time focusing on teaching kids how to play the game and improving their skills on the ice.

The Under-9 level is an important stage where children move from introductory lessons toward more organized games. These volunteer positions are vital to ensuring that the Mount Pearl Blades can continue to offer sports programs for local families.

Mike Kelly, the president of the association, oversees the recruitment of these volunteers to ensure the teams run smoothly. Interested parents can contact the organization directly to learn more about how to get involved for the remainder of the 2026 season.
