Neepawa, Manitoba, is facing a return to freezing weather that could make local travel difficult over the next several days. Environment Canada predicts that daytime highs will drop from +4°C on March 8, 2026, to -7°C by March 13, 2026.

This sudden drop in temperature follows a short period of melting, which means slush and water on the ground will likely turn into ice. The forecasted high of -7°C is lower than the typical maximum temperature of -3°C usually recorded in the area during this part of March.

Manitoba Public Insurance and safety groups like CAA Manitoba advise drivers to clear all ice from windows and mirrors before driving. Removing snow from lights is also necessary to help other drivers see your vehicle clearly in poor conditions.

According to Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure, provincial law requires motorists to stay back and use caution when near snowplows. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to watch for frozen slush on all community surfaces throughout the week.
