Residents in Neepawa, Manitoba, will head to the polls on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, to elect their next mayor, town council, and school board trustees. This local election comes as the town continues to grow, with the population expected to reach over 6,600 people by the time voting begins.

According to the Town of Neepawa, the official time for candidates to sign up to run for office is from September 16 to September 22, 2026. People interested in running for the position of mayor can start their campaign as early as May 1, 2026, based on rules from the Province of Manitoba.

On the same day, voters will also pick representatives for the Beautiful Plains School Division. The current council is led by Mayor Brian Hedley and includes five other councillors, following the recent resignation of one council member which led to a by-election vote to fill the seat.

This election happens during a busy year for the community, which includes the opening of a new regional hospital. The next group of leaders will be responsible for managing this growth and looking after town services for the next four years.
