Mario Bulacso, a professional driver for HyLife, was named the 2025 Canadian Trucking Alliance/Volvo Trucks Canada National Driver of the Year for his work with the company’s Neepawa-based operations. This top honour highlights the high safety and professional standards maintained by the local workforce as they travel on provincial highways.

The national award was announced on September 12, 2025, and recognizes Bulacso for his commitment to road safety and his mentorship of newer drivers. Before receiving this national title, he was also named the 2024 Manitoba Trucking Association – Volvo Trucks Canada Driver of the Year.

Bulacso is part of a team of more than 130 full-time drivers at the Neepawa pork production plant. These drivers are supported by the specialized six-person Driver Services team that manages training and daily support to ensure everyone stays safe on the road.

According to HyLife, Bulacso is known among his coworkers as “The Godfather” because of his leadership and honesty. Sergey Yaglinsky, the Manager of Driver Services, leads the team that works with drivers like Bulacso to keep local deliveries moving.
