The Neepawa Titans have announced that forward Ty Kirk will continue his hockey career with the University of Jamestown Jimmies. The 21-year-old from Hamiota, Manitoba committed to the ACHA Division 1 program on July 29, 2026.
Kirk wore number 24 for the Titans in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. He was acquired by Neepawa in a trade from the Sioux Lookout Bombers in June 2025, a move that brought him closer to his hometown and family.
“It was a really exciting moment,” Kirk said about being traded to the Titans. “It was all fast and smooth. Thrilled to be closer to home with my family being able to watch me more, it’ll be good.”
The gritty, two-way forward describes himself as a player who always brings energy and is hard on the forecheck. He scored a career-high 14 goals in the 2024-25 season and brings valuable championship experience, having won a national title and competed at the Centennial Cup in his first year of junior hockey.
The University of Jamestown Jimmies compete in the ACHA Division 1 under head coach Dean Stork, who is entering his eighth season with the program. The commitment marks another successful step in the Titans’ player development pathway, which has seen numerous alumni advance to college and university hockey.
