The new Neepawa Health Centre in Neepawa, Manitoba, has reached a major construction milestone with roughly 75 per cent of the building now finished. The project is moving forward quickly, and officials expect the facility to welcome its first patients in early 2027.
According to Prairie Mountain Health, outdoor areas like a healing garden and visitor patios are now taking shape at the site. These spaces are meant to give patients and their families a quiet place to rest outside, while new parking lots and a helipad for emergency transfers are also being completed.
The 180,000-square-foot facility is nearly four times larger than the current local hospital and will offer 60 beds for patients staying overnight. The design by LM-ESP includes an expanded emergency department with dedicated bays for ambulances and stretchers to help medical staff move patients more efficiently.
Local businesses are also helping to get the site ready, with Neepawa Home Hardware participating in efforts to plant trees and greenery around the construction area. Once open, the new hospital will also provide specialized services such as kidney dialysis and cancer treatments, allowing residents to receive care closer to home.
