Grandview Public School in New Hamburg is inviting former and current students, staff and community members to a 75th anniversary open house on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 341 Huron Place. This milestone celebration marks three-quarters of a century since the school first opened its doors in 1950.

Organized by Principal Brad Hughes and the Grandview School Council, the event will include social time for sharing memories, photo displays showing the school’s growth from a six-classroom building to a modern JK-8 learning hub, and may include a tea room with refreshments supplied by local partners.

Alumni and retired staff are encouraged to bring memorabilia and contact Head Secretary Danielle Stere in advance to help showcase Grandview’s history. According to the school’s official website, the 2000 50th anniversary featured a similar format that allowed former Tigers to reconnect and reminisce.

The celebration comes as New Hamburg experiences significant residential growth. Planners hope the anniversary will honour the school’s rural beginnings while celebrating its evolving role as a vibrant suburban community hub for Tigers past and present.
