The Town of Newmarket will implement traffic restrictions on Fernbank Road between Mulock Drive and the roundabout at Nellie Little Crescent for the Tim Hortons First Night family celebration at the Magna Centre (800 Mulock Drive). The town’s event page currently lists the celebration for Wednesday, December 31, 2025. The Town’s official notice lists a temporary road closure for the fireworks from approximately 5:50 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.; municipal traffic-management measures and a pedestrian zone are expected to be in place roughly between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
During these times, residents of Nellie Little Crescent and visitors to the Magna Centre will be redirected away from the Fernbank Road entrance. Fernbank Road will be barricaded at Mulock Drive to create a safe pedestrian area around the outdoor concert stage and the fireworks launch in the Magna Centre east parking lot.
The Town advises drivers to use the main Magna Centre entrance off Mulock Drive or the College Manor Drive access point for drop-off and parking. Heavy congestion is expected; arriving early or using nearby public parking where permitted is recommended.
