On January 14, 2026, Members of Parliament Jacob Mantle (York—Durham) and Sandra Cobena (Newmarket—Aurora) joined Councillor Lee Dale (Ward 5, Town of Georgina) for a site visit at Cadence Health and Wellness in Newmarket, Ontario. The delegation toured the clinic to learn about specialized mental-health and addictions programs for Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans and first responders.

The group met with Cadence co-founder and CEO Chris Dupee, an Afghanistan veteran who helped start the centre to provide a more personal, peer-led approach to mental-health care. During the tour, officials viewed therapy spaces and a peer-support social hub the clinic describes as the “Stable,” where clients can connect with others who have served in similar roles.

The visit focused on how local, peer-led clinics can help people with post-traumatic stress disorder and addictions more quickly than some traditional systems, and on ways to reduce wait times and service gaps for those who have served their country or community.

Residents who need assistance with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) or mental-health claims can contact the constituency offices of MP Jacob Mantle or MP Sandra Cobena for constituent services and referrals.

Cadence Health and Wellness was founded in 2017 and moved to its current Davis Drive location (625 Davis Drive) in 2022 to expand its services and add inpatient programming.
