Newmarket, Ontario – The Town of Newmarket says the 2026 waste and recycling calendar will be mailed to all residential households soon (expected late 2025/early 2026). Residents who have opted to not receive “advertising mail” will not receive a hard copy and are asked to contact the Town in February 2026 to request one.

Starting December 31, 2025, the Town’s recycling program will transition to the province’s producer‑responsibility model administered by Circular Materials. Households will receive 360‑litre (about 95‑gallon) wheeled recycling carts and recycling collection will move from weekly to bi‑weekly pickup; GFL is the contracted hauler delivering and servicing carts. Garbage and green‑bin (organics) services remain under the Town’s management and will continue on their current schedules.

Residents can download the Recycle Coach app for a personalized 2026 collection calendar, pickup reminders and a report‑a‑problem feature to help avoid missed collections and sorting errors. The app also sends alerts about holiday changes and special pickup events and serves as a digital alternative to the printed calendar.

Those who miss the calendar mailing because they have opted out of “advertising mail” are asked to contact the Town in February to request a printed copy. A digital version and more details are available on the Town of Newmarket waste and recycling calendar page.
