Families in Newmarket, Ontario can now start planning for the 2026 summer season as the town prepares to open registration for more than 70 camp programs. The Town of Newmarket is offering a variety of activities for children and teens, including sports, arts, and full-day programs running throughout July and August.
Some partner or specialty programs list early‑bird discounts through Feb. 1, 2026 — parents should check individual program listings for those offers. The Town of Newmarket says resident registration opens Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 6:30 a.m. through the town’s online registration portal.
Programs are available to children as young as four. Leadership/Counsellor‑in‑Training programs serve teens ages 13–16, and some camps offer programming up to age 19 depending on the camp. Camps run at major local facilities such as the Magna Centre, the Old Town Hall, and the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex. The Newmarket Summer Camp Guide lists options ranging from traditional outdoor day camps to specialized theatre and STEM classes.
The Town requires camp staff to have Police Vulnerable Sector Checks and Standard First Aid/CPR‑C and provides additional staff training in behaviour management, inclusion and program planning. While the Ontario Child Care and Early Years Act sets rules for licensed child care, that legislation does not apply to camps that only serve children aged four and older; Newmarket follows these provincial best practices alongside its own staffing qualifications. Families who need financial help to pay for camp can apply through the Town’s Creating Accessible Recreation for Everyone (CARE) fund or the Fee Assistance Program.
