Newmarket, Ontario — The Town of Newmarket has released its Winter 2026 drop-in schedules and holiday hours for local athletes and families. Public skating, shinny and gym sessions at the Magna Centre begin January 5, Recreation Youth Centre programs start January 6, and Denne Public School listings begin January 16. Holiday hours cover December 24, 2025 through January 1, 2026.

Most Newmarket facilities will close early on December 24 and remain closed on December 25, 26 and January 1. Specific facility hours vary (for example, the Magna Centre is open 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on December 24 and closed on December 25, 26 and January 1). Residents should check the town schedules for site-specific reopening dates.

Public skating, shinny and gym drop-ins at the Magna Centre (800 Mulock Drive) kick off January 5. Recreation Youth Centre offerings at 56 Charles Street begin January 6, and gym drop-ins at Denne Public School (330 Burford Street) start January 16. All drop-in programs require an Xplor Recreation account and bookings are managed through the Town’s Xplor portal.

The Town’s switch to the Xplor Recreation system removes waitlist options for pre-registered drop-in programs (such as Aqua Fitness, Group Fit, Badminton and Pickleball). Users must have active Xplor accounts and monitor availability in real time: sessions fill to capacity and new spots typically only appear if someone cancels. For full, site-specific schedules and holiday hours, consult the Town of Newmarket drop-in schedules page.
