Urban Social Coffee Opens on Main Street in Newmarket

Urban Social Coffee has opened at 230 Main Street South in Newmarket’s historic downtown district.

Owner Avo Der-Boghosian (known locally as Avo) launched the boutique café in early February 2026. The shop serves specialty coffee and brunch and is designed to act as a social hub for the community.

Town of Newmarket officials welcomed the new business, calling the opening a boost for the downtown area and for efforts to keep the heritage district vibrant and busy with foot traffic.

The Newmarket Main Street BIA supports the addition as it aligns with goals to create a walkable neighbourhood. Der-Boghosian said he wanted to create a comfortable space where residents can meet and feel at home.
