The Town of Niverville, Manitoba, has updated its local parking rules to include new no-parking zones and designated snow routes to ensure streets stay clear for plows and emergency vehicles. These changes recently went into effect with a town-wide parking ban on February 4, 2026, to allow crews to remove snow from several residential neighbourhoods.

Under the new rules, drivers cannot park on designated snow routes between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM while clearing operations are happening. Specific areas now facing these restrictions include the north end of Landsbury Terrace, Cobblestone Court, and Kipling Lane, along with temporary parking lane closures on Main Street.

Vehicles left on the street during these times may be ticketed or towed to a local compound. These measures help the Town of Niverville and private contractors like Barkman Cartage move snow more quickly and keep roads safe for ambulances and fire trucks.

The Niverville Town Council officially updated the town traffic and parking laws in October 2025 to create these new zones. Officials also updated the list of fines and towing fees in December 2025 to reflect the new enforcement standards as the community continues to grow.

Mayor Myron Dyck and town administrators say these changes are necessary to manage the town expanding size and ensure service vehicles can navigate narrow streets. Residents can find the updated list of restricted areas and parking rules on the official town website.
