The Wanipigow School varsity boys basketball team — the Wanipigow Stingers, based in Wanipigow/Hollow Water First Nation — secured a decisive 76–43 victory over the Whitemouth Warriors on February 3, 2026. The game was played in Norway House at the Helen Betty Osborne Ininiw Education Resource Centre.
According to Basketball Manitoba’s Rogers Scoreboard (published Feb. 4, 2026), Wanipigow’s 76–43 win was a marked improvement over the teams’ earlier meeting this season, when Wanipigow edged Whitemouth 68–67 on January 10, 2026. The match was hosted at a Frontier School Division facility (HBOIERC), a regional school that serves northern and eastern Manitoba communities.
Basketball Manitoba listed Whitemouth as A #4 entering the matchup, making the 33-point margin notable for the Stingers. The result provides a midseason performance update and will help Wanipigow’s seeding prospects as teams prepare for the Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association (MHSAA) “A” provincial championships later this season.
