Construction has officially started on a new headquarters for Orangeville Fire Services in Orangeville, Ontario. The 24,000-square-foot facility is being built at the corner of Centennial Road and Commerce Road to improve emergency response times and safety for local residents.

The Town of Orangeville is spending about $26.5 million on the project, which officially moved forward in February 2026. The new building replaces an outdated fire hall on Dawson Road that was built in 1971 and was previously described by local officials as the oldest fire hall in Dufferin County.

The project is supported by more than $3.6 million in funding from the Ontario government through a grant for skills development. This money will help build a new training campus where firefighters can practice their emergency skills in a modern environment.

To keep the total budget down, the town removed plans for a separate 6,000-square-foot office building and specific high-end energy-saving standards. The construction firm J.J. McGuire is the primary contractor for the work, which is expected to be finished in late 2027.
