The Town of Orangeville, Ontario, is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Community Recognition Awards to celebrate residents and organizations that help the community. According to the town, people have until February 27, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. to submit their nominations through the municipal website.
The awards cover several areas including volunteer work in sports, arts, and social services. The program is designed to be inclusive and reflect the diversity of the local population across different ages and backgrounds.
Specific honors include the Community Champion Award, which is reserved for individuals with at least 10 years of local service. The Mayor’s Special Achievement Award serves as the highest honor for unique accomplishments that do not fit into other categories.
The program is led by the Orangeville Culture and Community Services Department and includes categories previously managed by the Sustainable Orangeville Committee. By bringing these different honors into one program, the town aims to make it easier for residents to recognize local heroes.
