The Durham District School Board has released its January–June 2026 meeting calendar, including a Standing Committee meeting (7:00 p.m.) and a Special Board meeting (7:45 p.m.) on January 5, 2026, with agendas and live‑stream links provided on the meeting pages. Meetings are held at the DDSB Education Centre, 400 Taunton Road East, Whitby, and the schedule covers issues that affect Oshawa-area public schools while giving parents and residents clear dates for oversight and input.

The calendar lists Regular Board meetings, Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) gatherings, Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) sessions and Governance and Policy meetings. By publishing the January–June schedule more than a year in advance, the board aims to help families plan attendance and prepare requests for delegation status well before each meeting.

Oshawa trustees Deb Oldfield and Shailene Panylo are among the local trustees involved in the January–June schedule. Deb Oldfield, Vice‑Chair of the Board and Chair of the Committee of the Whole (Standing Committee), will chair the Standing Committee meeting on January 5. Many sessions include published agendas and live‑stream links on the DDSB Live YouTube channel (the Jan. 5 Standing Committee and Special Board meeting pages include Live Stream links); meeting pages on the DDSB calendar indicate which sessions will be livestreamed.

The early calendar release follows trustee controversies in 2023–24 and reporting of an October 2024 motion related to public participation rights at meetings. The January–June window also covers the 2026–2027 budget deliberations, giving families the opportunity to follow Education Finance and other committee meetings where budget and tax‑dollar decisions are discussed. Full details and meeting pages (including agendas and livestream links where provided) are available on the DDSB meeting calendar.
