A 19-year-old man from Oshawa, Ontario, was arrested on March 20, 2026, after he allegedly robbed a gas station at knifepoint. The incident happened at approximately 11:00 p.m. at the Petro Canada located at 925 Simcoe Street North.
According to the Durham Regional Police Service, a man entered the business and threatened employees with a knife while demanding cash from the register. Officers from the Central East Division found a suspect nearby and took him into custody after a short chase on foot.
The suspect, Nathan Jean Michel, is facing six charges including robbery, wearing a disguise, and assaulting a police officer. At the time of his arrest, he was already under court-ordered conditions that prohibited him from possessing any knives.
