Oshawa, Ontario, will see a mix of rain and snow this week that could make roads slippery and reduce visibility for local drivers. According to Environment Canada, the area is expected to have periods of rain or snow on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, with a high of 1°C.

The winter weather is predicted to continue later in the week with a 60 per cent chance of snow on Friday, February 20, 2026. These conditions may affect morning and evening travel, and the City of Oshawa uses a priority system to clear main roads first before moving to residential streets and city-owned sidewalks.

Local property owners are required by city rules to clear snow and ice from sidewalks next to their homes by midnight on the first day after the snow stops falling. People who do not clear their sidewalks could face fines that increase from $75 to $275 for each day the snow remains.

Residents can monitor the progress of local plows through the Snow Clearing Activity Report on the city website. For those using public transportation, Durham Region Transit provides live updates on service delays or bus detours caused by the weather.
