On February 14, 2026, the Grey County Roads Division reported that many routes in Owen Sound, Ontario are now partly covered in snow. These conditions were updated early Saturday morning to warn drivers of inconsistent traction on their morning commutes.
When a road is described as partly snow covered, it means two wheels of a car are usually on bare pavement while the other two are on loose snow. In some sections, the snow is packed and bonded to the asphalt, which can make the road surface feel uneven and slippery.
Despite the snow on the ground, visibility is currently good and there is no drifting reported in the area. The Grey County team manages more than 800 kilometres of roads to help keep local traffic moving safely throughout the winter months.
Maintaining this large network is a major priority for the local government, with the 2026 budget allocating over $30 million for transportation services. Residents are encouraged to check for live updates before heading out to ensure they have the most current information for their trip.
