The Owen Sound Police Service confirmed that emergency 911 services in Owen Sound, Ontario, returned to normal operation by 9:40 a.m. on March 10, 2026, after a technical disruption was resolved.
The service outage was caused by technical issues involving Bell Canada copper lines. Local police identified the problem during the morning and issued a notice to keep residents informed while the lines were being fixed.
According to a public safety notice, all emergency response capabilities are now fully operational. Residents can once again use the 911 system for any immediate help needed from police, fire, or ambulance services.
