The Town of Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador, will host a 10-day community series called Warming Paradise to help residents stay active during the winter. The events will run from February 13 to February 22, 2026, focusing on indoor recreation and social meetups to combat seasonal isolation.

The primary venue is the Paradise Double Ice Complex (68 McNamara Drive). The series includes free skating sessions, fitness classes, and coffee hours for seniors — with secondary events also planned at the Paradise Rotary Youth Centre and the Paradise Town Hall Community Room — to help people of all ages stay connected during the coldest weeks of the year.

Town officials are inviting residents to submit workshop ideas through the town’s Idea Portal by February 2, 2026. Successful pitches will allow locals to lead sessions teaching skills such as crafts or basic technology as part of the official community schedule.

This is the first major winter programming push under Mayor Patrick Martin, who was elected on October 2, 2025. The program aims to serve both the town’s burgeoning young-family demographic and its vital senior population by providing warm, indoor spaces for everyone to gather and learn new hobbies.
