The Perth Tourism office (a division of the Town of Perth) is hosting its annual Frost & Fire Winter Festival on Saturday, February 14, 2026. This free event will take over downtown Perth from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering a variety of outdoor activities and local shopping during the Family Day long weekend.

Visitors can take part in a wide range of winter activities across the Family Day weekend, including outdoor laser tag, axe throwing, an on-street tube run, and skating during scheduled public sessions. For those looking to stay warm, the event features outdoor fire pits, hot chocolate stations, and indoor crafts at the Perth Museum.

The festival also includes a vendor marketplace at the Crystal Palace, where local artisans will sell handmade goods and crafts. To make room for the festivities, Herriott Street will be closed to vehicular traffic for event activities, allowing families to walk safely between the different activity hubs downtown.

Since it started in 2020, the festival has been used to help support local businesses during the quiet winter months. “It’s the perfect balance — enough people to create a vibrant and lively atmosphere, but not so many that you’re stuck in long lineups,” said Kathryn Jamieson, Manager of Tourism and Culture for the Town of Perth, describing the event’s goals.

Organizers suggest arriving early, as popular activities like the scavenger hunt and food vendors often see high demand; past editions have produced long lines at popular food stands. The festival is funded through the Town of Perth’s municipal budget and local sponsors, and many activities are offered free to residents and visitors.
