Families and residents in Perth, Ontario, can head to the library on February 14, 2026, for a free, drop-in crafting session to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The event encourages people of all ages to create handmade cards and gifts for their loved ones using supplies provided by the library at no cost.

The session will take place at the Perth & District Union Public Library located at 30 Herriott Street. No registration is required, making it easy for neighbors from Perth, Tay Valley, and Drummond/North Elmsley to stop by and participate.

This initiative is part of the library’s Agility Plan, which focuses on turning the facility into a vibrant community hub. Erika Heesen, the library’s CEO, has previously said, “The Library is very pleased to be offering this service for our rural residents who cannot always physically come to the library building,” in a Tay Valley Township press release about the library’s satellite service.

The library also works with community partners like the Perth & District Community Foundation to support local programming. This craft day offers a social activity for families and follows recent community events at the library, such as the Library After Dark fundraising concert in late January 2026.
