According to the Town of Perth’s garbage and recycling page, the Public Works department has scheduled curbside pickup of natural Christmas trees in Perth, Ontario, for January 12–16, 2026.
Trees must be stripped of all decorations and stands and placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, as collection crews make only one pass through each neighbourhood. Any trees presented after this deadline or left behind snowbanks will not be picked up during the week.
Residents who miss the curbside window may drop off trees free of charge at the Perth Landfill at 666 Wildlife Road with proof of residency. The landfill is closed on Mondays and open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The service helps divert organic waste from regular garbage collection and turns trees into mulch or compost. While residential recycling is now handled by the provincial organisation Circular Materials, Christmas tree disposal remains under the Town’s control.
In case of heavy snowfall, residents should keep trees clear of drifts and visible at the curb to avoid missing collection.
