A 28-year-old man is facing 14 criminal charges following a series of kidnappings across the region, including a final incident that ended in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. Between January 15 and January 18, 2026, police say Amritpal Singh used fake online job advertisements to target women before holding them against their will.

The West Vancouver Police Department worked with other local agencies to investigate three separate incidents in different cities. Investigators say the suspect lured women to meetings by posing as an employer offering cleaning jobs, but the positions did not actually exist.

Officers from the Ridge Meadows RCMP arrested Singh in north Pitt Meadows on January 18, 2026. The arrest happened after police received a high-priority report about a woman being held captive inside a vehicle.

The BC Prosecution Service has approved 14 charges against Singh, including kidnapping, sexual assault with a weapon, and using a fake gun. The four-day crime spree allegedly involved incidents in West Vancouver and Surrey before the final encounter in Pitt Meadows.

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone who was contacted by a man using the names Amar or Aman to come forward. Residents are encouraged to contact their local police department if they have any information about these online job scams.
