The City of Pitt Meadows will carry out repair work on a section of the Shoreline Trail south of Fraser Way and east of Harris Road on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the city said in a notice issued Dec. 19.
The notice says the work is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to correct drainage issues. Pedestrian traffic may be impacted, but the trail is not expected to be fully closed; users are asked to obey signage and workers in the area.
The work comes after an atmospheric river that affected the region between Dec. 8 and Dec. 19. The city’s storm update says crews have been monitoring drainage systems, river levels, dikes and pump stations and have reported concerns about unstable banks. Nearby reporting from Maple Ridge recorded about 164 millimetres of rain during the event.
The city has warned residents to “stay away from rivers, creeks, fast-moving water and unstable banks, and keep children close and pets on leash near water and trails,” in its Dec. 19 storm update. Users can find the latest trail information and safety tips on the City of Pitt Meadows website.
