The B.C. Office of the Premier announced on February 17, 2026, that residents in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, are invited to sign books of condolence following the mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge. This provincial initiative allows community members to express sympathy for the families of at least eight victims who lost their lives on February 10, 2026.

According to the B.C. Office of the Premier, an online condolence book is the most direct way for the public to share messages of support. This virtual portal will remain open for entries until the end of the day on Friday, February 20, 2026.

Mayor Nicole MacDonald and the City of Pitt Meadows have lowered flags to half-mast at city hall to honour those affected by the events in the Peace region. Lisa Beare, the MLA for Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows, also traveled to the site of the tragedy to meet with families and participate in a community vigil.

For residents who are struggling with grief, local support is available through Foundry Ridge Meadows and Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Community Services. These organizations provide mental health resources to help community members process the tragedy that occurred at a home and a secondary school in Tumbler Ridge.
