Families in Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge have a window of opportunity to sign up for summer learning programs starting on April 16, 2026. The Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows School District 42 is opening registration at noon for a variety of courses designed to help students sharpen their skills or earn graduation credits.

Parents and guardians can complete the registration process through the online Parent Portal. The sign-up window remains open until 3 p.m. on May 7, 2026. For families with children already in the district, the process involves selecting the transfer request button, while families new to the district should use the enrolment request option.

The district offers several program options for different grade levels. These include elementary band for grades 6 and 7, transitions for fine arts and applied design, skills training in literacy and numeracy, and credit courses for students in grades 10 through 12. Additionally, the district is partnering with the Katzie First Nation to offer specialized summer learning at the Katzie Health Centre located in Pitt Meadows.

Most of the summer programs will take place at Thomas Haney Secondary School in Maple Ridge, starting on July 7, 2026. Elementary-level sessions will conclude on July 23, 2026, while secondary credit courses will run until July 28, 2026. According to the district, priority is given to students living within the district boundaries, with remaining spots assigned based on the order of registration timestamps.

If a program reaches capacity, a waitlist will be available from May 13 to June 5, 2026. All families will receive confirmation of their enrollment status by June 12, 2026. For questions regarding these programs, residents can contact the continuing education department via email at ce@sd42.ca or by calling 604-466-6555, extension 1.
