The Lambton County OPP are asking for the public’s help to find a man who allegedly stole food from a store on King Street East in Forest, Ontario. The theft occurred on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026; police were notified the next day. The incident may be of concern to residents of nearby Plympton-Wyoming, who often travel to Forest for groceries and services.
Police say the incident happened at about 4:55 p.m. when a man put several grocery items into a backpack and left the store without paying. According to reports, the same person returned shortly after, took more items and left the area in a small, dark-coloured pickup truck.
Police describe the suspect as a white male between 30 and 40 years old with light-coloured facial hair. He was last seen wearing black glasses, a plaid hooded jacket with a dark vest and carrying a black-and-red backpack. The OPP have asked anyone who recognizes the man to come forward.
Officers have asked residents and businesses in the King Street East area to check surveillance and doorbell camera footage and contact Lambton County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 with any information. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers. The investigation is ongoing.
