Residents of Ponoka, Alberta, can now access the Town’s 2026 Curbside Waste Collection Calendar on the Town of Ponoka website. The printable PDF lays out next year’s pickup dates and zone maps, and the Town’s Waste Management page instructs households to have their grey and green carts, along with recycling bags, at the curb by 6 a.m. on collection days.
The Town’s main waste page and the 2026 calendar set a 6 a.m. set‑out time — an hour earlier than the 7 a.m. requirement shown in earlier 2024/2025 materials — though some subpages and older documents still reference 7 a.m., which may cause confusion for residents. The change is intended to help crews keep collection trucks on schedule and reduce missed pickups.
Green carts for organic waste will be picked up weekly from May 1 to Oct. 31 and every two weeks from Nov. 1 to April 30, according to the 2026 calendar. The Town states that collection days that fall on a statutory holiday will still receive service, with the exception of Christmas Day; residents should consult the calendar or contact the Town for any rescheduling details.
The calendar and detailed zone information are available as a PDF on the Town’s waste management page. The Town also lists a mobile app (Google Play and Apple Store) on its site, but the app is marked “Coming Soon” and is described in future tense on the page — residents should check the Town website for the app’s release and sign up for alerts through the Town’s communications channels if they want service notifications.
