The Town of Ponoka Recreation Department has added beginner and intermediate Pilates classes at the Ponoka Aquaplex and a “Lunch is On” community meal to its Upcoming Events calendar for January 2026. Residents can join Pilates sessions on Monday, January 5 and Wednesday, January 7, and attend the lunch event on Wednesday, January 7 to stay active and connected during the winter months.
The beginner Pilates class runs from 6:00 p.m. to 6:50 p.m., followed by the intermediate session from 7:10 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., both at the Ponoka Aquaplex (5315 46 Avenue). Pre-registration is recommended and may be required due to limited space; residents can register online through the Town’s recreation registration portal (see the Recreation Programming page) or in person at the Ponoka Aquaplex.
The “Lunch is On” event takes place on Wednesday, January 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The program’s venue sometimes rotates (typically between the Ponoka Drop-In Centre and the Royal Canadian Legion), so residents should confirm the specific location on the Town’s Upcoming Events listing. The program offers a low-cost community meal aimed at reducing social isolation and supporting residents facing food inflation.
For full details on fees, venue confirmation and capacity limits, residents should visit the Town’s Upcoming Events calendar or contact the Ponoka Aquaplex front desk at 403-783-0131 or email recreation@ponoka.ca. Spaces for the Pilates classes often fill quickly, so early registration is recommended.
