On Sunday, January 11, 2026, the Town of Ponoka Recreation Department will host a relaxation event called a sound bath at Hudson’s Green Nature and Activity Centre in Ponoka, Alberta. The event is described by the Town of Ponoka as a beginner-friendly session intended to help residents manage stress and improve their mental health during the winter months.
During the event, participants will listen to therapeutic sounds created by instruments such as singing bowls and gongs. These vibrations are intended to create a calming environment for those looking for a quiet way to unwind. The town is offering the program as part of its expanding community wellness activities that include offerings like yoga and nature programs.
The session will take place at 6210 61 Street, in a building that was originally the Ponoka Water Treatment Plant and was later converted into Hudson’s Green Nature and Activity Centre. The facility was redesigned as a multi-purpose community hub (the conversion was carried out by Berry Architecture) and provides an intimate setting for small events — the main floor accommodates up to 75 people and the total building capacity is 100.
Residents who want to take part in the sound bath must sign up in advance. Full details and registration are available through the Town of Ponoka’s online booking portal (PerfectMind).
