The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley (CACAV), also known as the Alberni Arts Council, is hosting a free arts festival for families in Port Alberni, British Columbia, on Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026. The two-day event gives local residents an indoor place to be creative and active during the winter season.

The Alberni Valley Family Arts Festival will take place at the Glenwood Centre (4480 Vimy St.) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. both days. Families can take part in hands-on activities at maker stations — painting, puppetry, fiber arts and other art-making projects — and browse vendor and maker tables.

The festival includes a Youth Market where local youth (under 18) can sell their own handmade crafts, and there will be live performances throughout the weekend to entertain visitors as they explore the various maker areas.

The Alberni Valley News listed the festival in its community calendar. The City of Port Alberni provides the Glenwood Centre as the venue and typically supports Family Day–weekend programming; the Arts Council is presenting this festival as a flagship public event while it undertakes a strategic planning process and has closed The Grove gallery temporarily during that transition.

Admission is free; for details on volunteering, participating as a maker, or applying for the Youth Market, see the Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley event page.
