Port Alberni resident and professional musician Lance Lapointe is returning to his hometown for a live concert at Char’s Landing on January 17, 2026. This performance in Port Alberni, British Columbia, gives locals a chance to see the singer in a small setting after his recent work touring as a member of Bachman-Turner Overdrive, serving as the band’s bassist and a vocalist.
The show will include a variety of classic rock covers and original songs written by Lapointe throughout his career. According to the event listing on Humanitix, doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the performance starting at 7:30 p.m.
Lapointe has a long history with the local music scene and was previously named Artist of the Year at the Vancouver Island Music Awards (2016). Alberni.ca profiled Lapointe in 2017, reporting he had taken a day job at Alberni Chrysler; more recent coverage of his touring with BTO continues to identify him as a Port Alberni resident.
The concert is being held at Char’s Landing Public House, which is located in a converted church built circa 1912. Tickets for the show are available for $35 in advance or $40 at the door for the all-ages event.
