Ashlyn Donohue, a student at Port Colborne High School, has been named the 2026 winner of the Youth Leadership Award in Port Colborne, Ontario. The award is given annually by the Port Colborne-Wainfleet Chamber of Commerce to recognize students who show exceptional leadership and service to their community.
Donohue is a student at Port Colborne High School and was chosen for the award because of her active role in the school community. She spends her lunch hours volunteering in the school cafeteria and helps out at local culinary events.
After school, she also works as a scorekeeper for both the basketball and volleyball teams. School officials described her as a quiet leader who serves as a positive role model for other students.
The official presentation will happen on April 1, 2026, during the President’s Awards Celebration hosted by the Port Colborne-Wainfleet Chamber of Commerce. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Roselawn Centre.
The Roselawn Centre is a local heritage site located at 296 Fielden Avenue and is operated by the city. This annual ceremony is designed to recognize excellence in local business and service to the community.
