Residents in Prince Rupert now have access to a redesigned website from BC Transit, aimed at making it easier to plan trips, view bus schedules, and check fares. The new site went live on March 31, 2026, and includes a specific section dedicated to the local transit system.
The redesign is intended to simplify how riders access information for the seven bus routes serving the city and the neighboring District of Port Edward, including the Seal Cove, Summit, Crestview, Westview, Fairview Bay, Park, and Port Edward routes. The new layout is designed to work well on mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers, consolidating maps, planning tools, and service alerts into one location.
This project cost $3.8 million and was funded jointly by the Province of British Columbia and local government partners, including the City of Prince Rupert. The update follows the launch of the electronic fare payment system in May 2024, which introduced the Umo Mobility app and reloadable cards for local riders.
BC Transit is looking for rider feedback on the new website as part of its ongoing efforts to improve services. Residents can share their suggestions now, and further public engagement is planned for May 2026 through the Voice of the Rider platform.
